About Darien

Born abroad and raised in Texas, Darien has always balanced a taste for adventure with a cautious eye toward to risk management. She married her sweetheart Joe in 1995, and together they have three children, two adults and one teen.

Darien and Joe launched ZoloWear baby carriers in 2001. She grew the company from her kitchen table into an internationally recognized brand. She secured national media coverage, helped shape industry safety standards, and sold the business in 2009.

After relocating to Colorado, Darien and Joe co-founded Volare Software, a custom software consultancy serving enterprise clients across the United States.

Alongside her business work, Darien has long been involved in advocacy, public service, and volunteer efforts. She has spent years refining messaging, growing audiences, and helping organizations think strategically about how they show up in the world.

In 2021, the Wilson family moved to the Netherlands under the Dutch American Friendship Treaty, establishing Volare Software B.V. Darien shared parts of her relocation experience publicly as DarienGoesDutch, which resonated with a wide audience.

Darien now works in the relocation space, supporting Americans who are considering or in the midst of moving. Having rebuilt life, work, and identity in another country in her fifties, she brings a grounded, lived perspective to her work.
